Crack Control

In order that we can minimalise the risk of cracking over a period of time, we must insert crack control joints. These are straight diamond cuts through the slab at points that we would consider to be a weakness.

As the concrete expands and contracts in the varying temperatures of the seasons, it will crack at these points. These cracks will be natural and invisible breaks in the slab induced by our crack control joints. After cutting, the joints will be filled with a coloured silicone.

When designing our area it is always prudent to consider where such cuts will be necessary and where we can incorporate them within the pattern and design to make the invisible.
