TRADITIONAL PAVING

THE PAVING PROCESS

Step 2: Preparation

Step two of Traditional Paving Ltd's concrete paving process is the site preparation stage.

The site preparation stage of the installation usually takes a day, but can take longer depending on the circumstances.

In situations where the site access is not very good (i.e. most patios and rear garden areas) the site preparation will be done manually. When it is possible to use machinery, it will be used to speed up the site preparation process.

During this process the correct amount of spoil is removed from the site, ensuring that there is enough room for a good sub-base and 100mm concrete.

Site Preparation

After the site has been excavated the new MOT type 1 is placed, levelled and compacted, the drainage is then installed and the shuttering positioned.

At this point the site preparation is complete and we are now ready for the pattern concrete to be laid, weather permitting.

Generally you will be called the evening of the site preparation day to ensure that the dig out has gone as you imagined, we will also advise you of the continuing plan or works. Just in case we get held up by poor weather conditions we ensure that the sites are left clean and tidy, with the sub base in place so as life can go on as normal whilst we are waiting for a dry slot to lay concrete.
